Michael Lubin, MD

Asking for help is difficult, especially when we are struggling. It requires taking a risk. We wonder how our request will be received and if we will be helped. Sometimes we question if we even can be helped.

As a psychiatrist, therapist, and psychoanalyst in training, I have helped people experiencing a wide range of difficulties.

Everyone struggles to some degree with life’s challenges. We want to know ourselves, feel confident in our abilities, and close to others. Our longings, fears, and aggression can get in our way. Sometimes, they tip us into crisis.

Whatever your difficulties may be, I am prepared to help. Effective therapy enables you to feel freer and to gain security, satisfaction, and wholeness. Therapy, and in some instances medication, also reduces symptoms. I offer therapy and medication, depending on your needs.

Our relationship is the foundation of treatment. I like to meet with the people I work with often. Frequency allows me to better understand you as we build a warm, trusting, and respectful relationship.

I have worked with people in hospitals, emergency rooms, clinics, and private practice. I am a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at NYU Langone Health. In addition to my work in private practice, I see patients at Tisch Hospital on the Emergency Psychiatry After Hours Service.

The best way to see if we are a good fit is to meet for a consultation.
